Audio Engineering Society (AES)
The SDSU student section of the Audio Engineering Society is a group who shares an interest in advancing audio related hobbies and professions. Theoretical and hands on knowledge is used to design and build audio oriented projects. Whether you are interested in guitars or class A amplifiers, the AES would like you to consider our group. Meetings are every other Thursdays at 11:00 am. Notices of events are posted throughout the Engineering building.

American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)
Student membership is open to all full-time students who have an interest in the aerospace industry. Further information can be obtained in the Aerospace department office or during weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 11:00am. Notices of events are posted throughout the Engineering building.

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
The ASCE student chapter is a social group of students working to further their knowledge of Civil Engineering. Bi-weekly on-campus meetings offer the chance to learn about career and other issues from professional speakers. Students can also gain early notice of upcoming scholarships and internships. Meetings are every other Tuesday at 11:00 am.

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
ASME provides an opportunity for students to begin their professional career by joining a professional engineering society; to inform students of recent developments in the field of mechanical engineering through publications, field trips, and meetings; and to promote fellowship and interaction with other student sections and professional sectors of society. Meetings are Thursday at 11:00 am.

Associated General Contractors (AGC)
The purpose of AGC is to encourage students to work towards a better understanding of general contracting and the construction industry. AGC also facilitates the transition from students to professionals by working with faculty, local AGC chapter members, and other members of the construction industry. Meetings are every month, Tuesday at 11 am.

Chi Epsilon (Civil Engineers Honor Society)
Chi Epsilon was established to recognize students who are academically meritorious in the study of civil engineering. The organization places an emphasis upon qualities of scholarship, character, practicability, and sociability. Meetings are every other Thursday at 11:00 am.

Eta Kappa Nu (Electrical Engineering Honor Society)
The purpose of Eta Kappa Nu is to recognize outstanding electrical engineering scholars and for its members to be a constructive force, helping fellow members and non-members alike to improve the standards of the profession, the course of instruction, and the institutions in general where its chapters are established.

Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)
IEEE is the primary engineering organization for those students who are majoring in electrical or computer engineering. Weekly meetings are held every Tuesday at 11:00 am. IEEE is dedicate to improving the engineering knowledge of its members in a fun, social atmosphere.

Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE)
ITE is a professional organization dealing with all aspects of transportation engineering. Although it has traditionally focused on traffic engineering and transportation planning; it is currently involved in a range of activities involving people from other disciplines. The ITE student chapter is jointly sponsored by the Departments of Civil Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Membership is open to students from all departments.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
Our mission is dedicated to the development of intense programs for increasing Black and other ethnic minority participation in the fields of engineering and engineering technology. These programs will be initiated both within and outside the university community and will serve to strengthen relations between professional industry and the black community. Meetings are every other Thursday at 5:30 pm.

Pacific Asian Society of Engineers (PASE)
Our purpose is to promote the development and awareness of the Asian Cultures, provide Academic support to members and under represented students, and to help increase professional preparation in engineering. Events emphasized shall be academically, culturally, socially, and/or community oriented in nature to uplift the well being of the students in the College of Engineering at San Diego State University. Our meetings are every other Thursday at 11:00 am in E-328. Please check our board in the engineering lounge for the exact date.

Pi Tau Sigma (Mechanical Engineers Honor Society)
Pi Tau Sigma recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and exemplary character. Every member chooses a project to serve the college and the engineering profession in recognition of the organization.

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
SAE is open to SDSU students of all engineering fields. Members will have the opportunity to develop valuable leadership and communication skills through organizing tasks, managing resources, and motivating others. There are many competitions that the members of the chapter participate such as SAE Mini Baja, Formula, and Aero Design. Meetings are every Tuesday at 11:00 am. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
Our multi-disciplinary student organization is open to all SDSU students; however, we focus our activities in the areas of Engineering and Sciences. Our main purpose is to promote the development of Hispanics in Engineering, Sciences, and other technical professions. SHPEs activities fall into five main categories: Community Service, Membership Development, Recruitment, Outreach, and Social/Sports Events. Meeting are held bi-weekly (every other Thursday) at 11:00 a.m. in the Engineering building. If you would like more information about our student organization call us at our office 594-4311.

Tau Beta Pi (Poly-disciplined Honor Society)
Tau Beta Pi, the national Engineering society was founded in 1885 by Dr. Edward H. Williams, Jr. to recognize students of superior scholarship and outstanding character. The organization also promotes the interaction between professionals and students. Meetings are on Thursday once a month.
